even over those who did not sin
after the pattern of the trespass of Adam,
who is the type of the one who was to come.

But the gift is not like the transgression.
For if by the transgression of the one the many died,

Gospel Mt 10:26-33

Jesus said to the Twelve:
"Fear no one.
Nothing is concealed that will not be revealed,
nor secret that will not be known.
What I say to you in the darkness, speak in the light;
what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops.
And do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul;
rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy
both soul and body in Gehenna.
Are not two sparrows sold for a small coin?
Yet not one of them falls to the ground without your Father's knowledge.
Even all the hairs of your head are counted.
So do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
Everyone who acknowledges me before others
I will acknowledge before my heavenly Father.
But whoever denies me before others,
I will deny before my heavenly Father."

MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS,
 As Christians and Children of God, we need to remind ourselves that we are indeed walking with Jesus Christ. I feel that we can all remember times in our lives when we have felt abandoned by those who we thought were closest to us or trusted the most. We were disappointed and betrayed by the actions of another person that we expected more from. The emotional scars left by such actions take a very long time to heal. Unfortunately, what has been described happens far too often. We are all broken and not perfect. Whatever burdens and challenges we face are brought into every relationship and interaction that we participate in. What results is a mixture of positive and negative experiences which will influence how we look and interpret events. This reality tends to frustrate us as our expectations commonly are set higher than the results that we witness. In our humanness, we can approach our relationship the same way with Jesus Christ. We limit Him and ourselves in the interactions we have. The hurt and pain we have experienced in our human relationships are automatically applied to our relationship with Jesus. What we quickly forget is that Jesus Christ is perfect and that if we only accept Him for who He is there will be no disappointments or pain.
In the Gospel Reading today, Jesus reminds us just how much God loves us. Each one of our hairs on our head are counted. Take a moment to contemplate this: God loves us so much that He knows everything about us. Even the most unimportant thing about us, such as how many hairs are on our head, does not escape His knowledge of us. Even more, He feels what we feel and understands the struggles that we face. In the face of these challenges, we are reminded that He will never abandon us. There should be no fear of what is to come for God is with us. The prophet Jeremiah describes God as a mighty champion standing at his side knowing that the threats of death and imprisonment would not come to fruit because God was with Him. As Christians, we are all protected and valued in the same way. We all have a champion in God and He is ready disrupt all who oppose us. It is up to us to embrace this relationship and treat it with the importance and trust that it deserves. The only disappointments and failures that will result from this relationship will be from us. It is our responsibility to keep our focus and determination, modeling our love for God by the example He set by first loving us.
Jesus Christ challenges us to love Him and build up His kingdom. He tells us to shout out from the rooftops what we know and what we believe. We need to have full confidence in what has been revealed to us and what we know is true. When we start to proclaim our faith and live our faith, good things will start to happen. We will develop the capability to force out all the negative elements of our life and it will be replaced fully with the love of Christ. It will be like the removal of a dam that has been forcing back the natural flow of water. In this case, our dam has been preventing the free flow of Living Water from Jesus Christ.
Jesus has told us: “Ask and it shall be given, seek and you shall find, knock and the door will be opened.” The structure of the relationship is already in place. Jesus has offered everything. He is now waiting for us to accept His offer. When we do accept this offer our relationship with Him will affect all other relationships we are involved in. We will see things through Jesus and will act accordingly. Our brokenness will be healed and in turn we will be able to heal all those broken, disappointing relationships we have been involved in. In the end, it must be asked: “What are we waiting for?”

Hermanos y hermanas:

Aunque el pecado no se contabiliza cuando no hay ley.
Pero la muerte reinó de Adán a Moisés,

Pero el don no es como la transgresión.

MIS HERMANOS Y HERMANAS,
 Como Cristianos e Hijos de Dios, necesitamos recordarnos que realmente estamos caminando con Jesucristo. Siento que todos podemos recordar momentos en nuestras vidas cuando nos hemos sentido abandonados por aquellos que pensábamos que estaban más cerca de nosotros o que más confiaban. Nos decepcionó y traicionado por las acciones de otra persona que esperábamos más de. Las cicatrices emocionales dejadas por tales acciones toman un tiempo muy largo curar. Desafortunadamente, lo que se ha descrito ocurre demasiado a menudo. Estamos todos rotos y no perfectos. Cualesquiera que sean las cargas y los desafíos que enfrentamos se introducen en cada relación e interacción en la que participamos. Lo que resulta es una mezcla de experiencias positivas y negativas que influirán en cómo vemos e interpretamos los acontecimientos. Esta realidad tiende a frustrarnos ya que nuestras expectativas comúnmente se fijan más alto que los resultados que presenciamos. En nuestra humanidad, podemos acercarnos a nuestra relación de la misma manera con Jesucristo. Lo limitamos a él ya nosotros mismos en las interacciones que tenemos. El dolor y el dolor que hemos experimentado en nuestras relaciones humanas se aplican automáticamente a nuestra relación con Jesús. Lo que rápidamente olvidamos es que Jesucristo es perfecto y que si sólo lo aceptamos por lo que Él es, no habrá decepciones ni dolor.
En la lectura del Evangelio de hoy, Jesús nos recuerda cuánto nos ama Dios. Cada uno de nuestros cabellos en nuestra cabeza son contados. Tómese un momento para contemplar esto: Dios nos ama tanto que Él sabe todo sobre nosotros. Incluso la cosa más insignificante acerca de nosotros, tales como cuántos cabellos están sobre nuestra cabeza, no escapa su conocimiento de nosotros. Aún más, Él siente lo que sentimos y entiende las luchas que enfrentamos. Ante estos desafíos, nos recuerda que Él nunca nos abandonará. No debe haber temor de lo que está por venir, porque Dios está con nosotros. El profeta Jeremías describe a Dios como un poderoso campeón que estaba a su lado sabiendo que las amenazas de muerte y encarcelamiento no llegarían a fructificar porque Dios estaba con Él. Como cristianos, todos somos protegidos y valorados de la misma manera. Todos tenemos un campeón en Dios y Él está dispuesto a interrumpir a todos los que se oponen a nosotros. Depende de nosotros abrazar esta relación y tratarla con la importancia y confianza que merece. Las únicas decepciones y fracasos que resultarán de esta relación serán de nosotros. Es nuestra responsabilidad mantener nuestro enfoque y determinación, modelando nuestro amor por Dios con el ejemplo que Él estableció primero amándonos.
Jesucristo nos desafía a amarlo ya edificar su reino. Nos dice que gritamos desde los tejados lo que sabemos y lo que creemos. Necesitamos tener plena confianza en lo que nos ha sido revelado y lo que sabemos es cierto. Cuando comenzamos a proclamar nuestra fe y vivir nuestra fe, las cosas buenas empezarán a suceder. Desarrollaremos la capacidad de expulsar todos los elementos negativos de nuestra vida y serán reemplazados completamente con el amor de Cristo. Será como la eliminación de una presa que ha estado forzando de nuevo el flujo natural de agua. En este caso, nuestra presa ha estado impidiendo el libre flujo de agua viva de Jesucristo.
Jesús nos ha dicho: "Pide y se dará, busca y encontrarás, toca y se abrirá la puerta". La estructura de la relación ya está en su lugar. Jesús ha ofrecido todo. Ahora está esperando que aceptemos Su oferta. Cuando aceptamos esta oferta, nuestra relación con Él afectará a todas las otras relaciones en las que estamos involucrados. Veremos las cosas a través de Jesús y actuaremos en consecuencia. Nuestra herida será sanada y, a su vez, podremos sanar todas esas relaciones quebrantadas y decepcionantes en las que hemos estado involucrados. Al final, debe preguntarse: "¿Qué estamos esperando?"

unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood,
you do not have life within you.
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood
has eternal life,
and I will raise him on the last day.
For my flesh is true food,

Just as the living Father sent me

MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS,
 We have the ability to be fed by Jesus Christ every moment of our existence. He has given Himself completely to us physically, mentally, and spiritually through the Eucharist. It is through the Eucharist that we are completely meshed into the Trinity and are able to experience Jesus Christ in all these areas. It also serves as our spiritual food; our Manna in the desert of our lives that strengthens us as we live our lives here on this earth. Jesus tells us that His flesh is true food and that His blood is true drink that will lead to eternal life. As believers we are mandated to take His flesh and blood and to make it the center of our worship, celebrating the gift that was given to us anytime we have the opportunity to do so. It is a mystical experience that raises us above God’s creation and unites us to Him.
In the desert, God gave His people the Food of the Angels, while Jesus gave us Himself for nourishment. Yes, as His children, He always remains within us and can never be separated from us, but the Eucharist adds the physical experience of Jesus Christ to the mystical. We actually ingest Him and merge with Him, never to be separated. As Jesus said in the Sacred Scriptures, “I am in you and you are in me.” The Eucharist serves as a reminder of that fact. Furthermore, it provides a central focal point that we can use to dispel the clouds of despair and frustration that might challenge our relationship with Christ.  With it, it becomes harder to be pulled away from the loving embrace of Jesus. We are protected, consoled, and loved all the more through the Eucharist.
Jesus calls everyone to Himself. As individuals we feel it differently yet it is a general call to everyone. Through it, we gather together to worship. This gathering in turn shapes us into a community where everyone is as important to it success or failure. We are challenged to build each other up by using all of our unique talents given to us. All of us have the tools necessary and it is by the guidance of the Holy Spirit that we use them correctly. The instructions become clear through worship, prayer, Sacred Scripture, and the interpretation thereof. As we all utilize these gifts, they become more familiar to us. Through usage and repetition, we then proceed down the road to becoming masters of our craft. We are builders of the Kingdom of God here on this earth.
Our position as Children of God, consuming the Eucharist and using our experiences rightly, brings forth Fruits of Holy Spirit which enables us then to receive the Love of God within our hearts. We are then influenced even more through the strengthening of our relationship with our Creator. There is a continuous exchange of a profession of love between us and God which is then spread throughout our Christian Family. No one is alone or should be excluded from this exchange. We are obligated to invite all to participate and, for those who refuse, we must pray for them to enter into the experience. The Christian Experience is always inclusive and never exclusive.
Paul tells us that the cup and bread are a participation in the blood and body of Jesus Christ. These are words are action, community, and family. Through our participation, we all become closer together and Christ dwells amongst us for He is the Head of the Household. To participate fully in this relationship, we must act as a family, love as a family, cry as a family, and celebrate as a family. A family never forgets its members and never withholds comfort, forgiveness, or joy. We are one body and the body needs to function, exercise, and stay united to survive. The Eucharist gives us that starting point to achieve all of this and more.

De esa cena fue ensayada.

Aquí la nueva oblación de la nueva ley,
Por la revelación del nuevo rey,
Termina la forma del rito antiguo:

Ahora el nuevo el viejo effaces,
La verdad lejos persigue la sombra,
La luz disipa la penumbra de la noche.

Lo que hizo en la cena sentado,
Cristo ordenado para ser repetido,
Su memorial no debe cesar:

Y su regla para la toma de guía,
Pan y vino que santificamos, haciendo
Así nuestro sacrificio de paz.

Esta es la verdad que cada cristiano aprende,
El pan en su carne se vuelve,
A su preciosa sangre el vino:

La vista ha fallado, ni el pensamiento concibe,
Pero una fe intrépida cree,
Descansando sobre un poder divino.

Aquí debajo de estos signos están ocultos
Cosas inestimables para el sentido prohibido;
Signos, no cosas son todo lo que vemos:

Se derrama sangre y se rompe la carne,
Sin embargo, en cualquiera de las señales maravillosas
Cristo todo lo que sabemos ser.

Quien de este alimento participa,
No desgarra al Señor ni se rompe;
Cristo es entero a todo ese gusto:

Miles son, como uno, receptores,
Uno, como miles de creyentes,
Come de él que no puede perder.

Malo y bueno el banquete está compartiendo,
De lo que los buceadores preparan,
Muerte sin fin, o vida sin fin.

La vida a estos, a esa condenación,
Ver cómo participar
Es con rife de problemas diferentes.

Cuando se rompe el sacramento,
No dudo, pero creo que se habla,
Que cada símbolo severo fuera
Todo el conjunto contiene.

Nada divide el regalo precioso,
Rompiendo pero la señal betides
Jesús sigue siendo el mismo permanece,
Todavía intacta permanece.

La forma más corta de la secuencia comienza aquí.

Lo! La comida del ángel es dada
Al peregrino que ha luchado;
Ver el pan de los niños del cielo,
Que en los perros no se puede gastar.

Verdad los tipos antiguos cumpliendo,
Isaac atado, una víctima dispuesta,
Cordero pascual, su sangre derramada,
Maná a los padres enviados.

Muy pan, buen pastor, nos cuida,
Jesu, de tu amor hacernos amigos,
Nos refrescas, nos defiendes,
Tu eterna bondad nos envía
En la tierra de la vida para ver.

Tú que todas las cosas pueden y saben,
¿Quién en la tierra tales alimentos otorgar,
Concédenos con sus santos, aunque más bajos,
Donde la fiesta del cielo te muestra,
Hermanos herederos e invitados. Amén. Aleluya.

Yo soy el pan vivo que descendió del cielo, dice el Señor;
El que come este pan vivirá para siempre.

Evangelio Jn 6: 51-58


Jesús dijo a las multitudes judías:
"Yo soy el pan vivo que descendió del cielo;
El que come este pan vivirá para siempre;
Y el pan que daré
Es mi carne para la vida del mundo ".

Los judíos pelearon entre sí, diciendo:
"¿Cómo puede este hombre darnos su carne para comer?"
Jesús les dijo:
"Amén, amén, te digo,
A menos que comas la carne del Hijo del Hombre y bebas su sangre,
No tienes vida dentro de ti.
Quien come mi carne y bebe mi sangre
Tiene vida eterna,
Y yo lo resucitaré en el último día.
Porque mi carne es verdadera comida,
Y mi sangre es verdadera bebida.
Quien come mi carne y bebe mi sangre
Permanece en mí y yo en él.
Así como el Padre Viviente me envió
Y tengo la vida por el Padre,
Así también el que se alimenta de mí
Tendré vida por mi culpa.
Este es el pan que bajó del cielo.
A diferencia de sus antepasados que comieron y aún murieron,
El que come este pan vivirá para siempre ".

MIS HERMANOS Y HERMANAS,


 Tenemos la capacidad de ser alimentados por Jesucristo cada momento de nuestra existencia. Él se ha entregado completamente a nosotros físicamente, mentalmente y espiritualmente a través de la Eucaristía. Es a través de la Eucaristía que estamos completamente entrelazados en la Trinidad y somos capaces de experimentar a Jesucristo en todas estas áreas. También sirve como nuestro alimento espiritual; Nuestro Maná en el desierto de nuestras vidas que nos fortalece mientras vivimos nuestras vidas aquí en esta tierra. Jesús nos dice que Su carne es verdadera comida y que Su sangre es verdadera bebida que conducirá a la vida eterna. Como creyentes tenemos el mandato de tomar Su carne y sangre y hacer que sea el centro de nuestra adoración, celebrando el regalo que nos fue dado en cualquier momento que tenemos la oportunidad de hacerlo. Es una experiencia mística que nos eleva por encima de la creación de Dios y nos une a Él.
En el desierto, Dios dio a Su pueblo el alimento de los ángeles, mientras que Jesús se entregó a sí mismo para su alimentación. Sí, como Sus hijos, Él siempre permanece dentro de nosotros y nunca puede ser separado de nosotros, pero la Eucaristía agrega la experiencia física de Jesucristo al místico. De hecho, lo ingerimos y nos fusionamos con Él, para nunca ser separados. Como Jesús dijo en las Sagradas Escrituras, "Yo estoy en vosotros y vosotros estáis en mí". La Eucaristía sirve como un recordatorio de ese hecho. Además, proporciona un punto focal central que podemos usar para disipar las nubes de desesperación y frustración que podrían desafiar nuestra relación con Cristo. Con él, se hace más difícil ser alejado del amoroso abrazo de Jesús. Estamos protegidos, consolados y amados aún más a través de la Eucaristía.
Jesús llama a todos a sí mismo. Como individuos lo sentimos de manera diferente, sin embargo, es una llamada general a todos. A través de ella, nos reunimos para adorar. Esta reunión, a su vez, nos transforma en una comunidad donde todo el mundo es tan importante para el éxito o el fracaso. Nos desafían a construir uno al otro usando todos nuestros talentos únicos dados a nosotros. Todos tenemos las herramientas necesarias y es por la guía del Espíritu Santo que las usamos correctamente. Las instrucciones se aclaran a través de la adoración, la oración, la Sagrada Escritura y la interpretación de las mismas. A medida que todos utilizamos estos regalos, se nos familiarizan más. A través del uso y la repetición, seguimos por el camino para convertirnos en maestros de nuestro arte. Somos constructores del Reino de Dios aquí en esta tierra.
Nuestra posición como Hijos de Dios, consumiendo la Eucaristía y utilizando nuestras experiencias correctamente, produce Frutos del Espíritu Santo que nos capacita entonces para recibir el Amor de Dios dentro de nuestros corazones. Somos influenciados aún más a través del fortalecimiento de nuestra relación con nuestro Creador. Hay un intercambio continuo de una profesión de amor entre nosotros y Dios que luego se difunde en toda nuestra Familia Cristiana. Nadie está solo o debe ser excluido de este intercambio. Estamos obligados a invitar a todos a participar y, para aquellos que se niegan, debemos orar para que entren en la experiencia. La experiencia cristiana es siempre inclusiva y nunca exclusiva.
Pablo nos dice que la copa y el pan son una participación en la sangre y el cuerpo de Jesucristo. Estas son palabras son acción, comunidad y familia. A través de nuestra participación, todos nos hacemos más cercanos y Cristo mora entre nosotros porque Él es el Jefe de la Casa. Para participar plenamente en esta relación, debemos actuar como una familia, el amor como una familia, llorar como una familia, y celebrar como una familia. Una familia nunca olvida a sus miembros y nunca retiene el consuelo, el perdón o la alegría. Somos un cuerpo y el cuerpo necesita para funcionar, ejercitarse y permanecer unido para sobrevivir. La Eucaristía nos da ese punto de partida para lograr todo esto y más.
