For those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

that we are children of God,

heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ,

Gospel Mt 28:16-20

The eleven disciples went to Galilee,

Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father,
and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.
And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age."

My Brothers and Sisters,

 Just as Paul says in his letter today,  we did not receive a spirit of slavery through accepting Jesus Christ as our savior but a spirit of freedom through the presence of the Holy Spirit. This means that we have become free through the acceptance of Jesus Christ and have been revealed as Children of God. This revelation is both a personal one and one that will become evident to all those whom we interact with. We are free from the chains of this world and the slavery of society. We now have the opportunity to rise above all the chaos and destruction that the world of the flesh offers and to embrace a life filled with hope and freedom. As long as we recognize God loves us, we will be safe, secure, and joyful.

As Christian, we have come to understand that God’s ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thought. In a wonderful way, so many things that we have accepted as the truth are then revealed as untrue through our relationship with Him. An example of this is the concept of the Spirit of adoption. Through it, we are united to God and are welcomed into an existence with the Holy Trinity: The Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. God’s love becomes the glue that binds us with it and makes us inseparable from it except by our own decision. It is by our choice that we receive it and it is by our choice that we can also reject it. There is no limit to how close we can become to our God. He is our Father and we are His children.

Being led by the Spirit means that we no longer have to have fear, anxiety, and reservations about the future or regrets about the past. We are forever transfixed in the present experiencing a moment of pure love with God. For everyone, this will be different. At times, we will feel this in an overwhelming way and God’s creation will be revealed in its perfection. Other times, we will find ourselves in conflict as we struggle with our self-will and push away that which challenges our perceived dominance. These times can be viewed as growing pains as we actually get closer to God. This is true in every relationship. A relationship with God is no different.

Paul tells us in his letter to Timothy that,

 “If we have died with him we shall also live with him; If we hold out to the end we shall also reign with him. But if we deny him he will deny us. If we are unfaithful he will still remain faithful, for he cannot deny himself.”

Dying with him means a surrendering of our will and our former way of life. We

Have done this through our baptism and further realization of what it actually means: receiving the Sanctifying Grace necessary for salvation and becoming a member of the Church. When we finally comprehend our relationship with Jesus Christ we can then start working to live up to the expectations of the Father. As His children, there is a natural wantonness to do so. We should want to please Him because it is through the pleasing of the Father instead of ourselves that His love for us can be experienced. Jesus takes us by the hand to lead us to the Father and the Father shows us that He loves us. Welcome to the Trinity!

Moreover, there is room for error because we are not perfect. Far from it, we were and will always be sinners until that moment of perfection experienced when we are finally totally with God in our own physical death and resurrection. This should be a consoling fact. Jesus will always remain faithful to us even in our darkest moments. We will always be protected, guided, and above all loved. He will always be with us. He will always do everything for us. He will always love us.

Rom 8, 14-17

Hermanos: Los que se dejan guiar por el Espíritu de Dios, ésos son hijos de Dios. No han recibido ustedes un espíritu de esclavos, que los haga temer de nuevo, sino un espíritu de hijos, en virtud del cual podemos llamar Padre a Dios.

El mismo Espíritu Santo, a una con nuestro propio espíritu, da testimonio de que somos hijos de Dios. Y si somos hijos, somos también herederos de Dios y coherederos con Cristo, puesto que sufrimos con él para ser glorificados junto con él.

Mt 28, 16-20

En aquel tiempo, los once discípulos se fueron a Galilea y subieron al monte en el que Jesús los había citado. Al ver a Jesús, se postraron, aunque algunos titubeaban.

Entonces Jesús se acercó a ellos y les dijo: "Me ha sido dado todo poder en el cielo y en la tierra. Vayan, pues, y enseñen a todas las naciones, bautizándolas en el nombre del Padre y del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo, y enseñándolas a cumplir todo cuanto yo les he mandado; y sepan que yo estaré con ustedes todos los días, hasta el fin del mundo".

Mis hermanos y hermanas,

 Tal como lo dice Pablo en su carta de hoy, no recibimos un espíritu de esclavitud al aceptar a Jesucristo como nuestro salvador, sino como un espíritu de libertad a través de la presencia del Espíritu Santo. Esto significa que nos hemos liberado mediante la aceptación de Jesucristo y hemos sido revelados como Hijos de Dios. Esta revelación es personal y se hará evidente para todos aquellos con quienes interactuamos. Somos libres de las cadenas de este mundo y de la esclavitud de la sociedad. Ahora tenemos la oportunidad de superar todo el caos y la destrucción que ofrece el mundo de la carne y abrazar una vida llena de esperanza y libertad. Mientras reconozcamos que Dios nos ama, estaremos a salvo, seguros y alegres.

Como cristianos, hemos llegado a comprender que los caminos de Dios no son nuestros caminos y que sus pensamientos no son nuestros pensamientos. De una manera maravillosa, muchas cosas que hemos aceptado como la verdad se revelan como falsas a través de nuestra relación con él. Un ejemplo de esto es el concepto del Espíritu de adopción. A través de él, estamos unidos a Dios y somos bienvenidos a una existencia con la Santísima Trinidad: el Padre, el Hijo y el Espíritu Santo. El amor de Dios se convierte en el pegamento que nos une con él y nos hace inseparables de él, excepto por nuestra propia decisión. Es por nuestra elección que lo recibimos y es por nuestra elección que también podemos rechazarlo. No hay límite de cuán cerca podemos llegar a ser para nuestro Dios. Él es nuestro Padre y nosotros somos Sus hijos.

Ser guiado por el Espíritu significa que ya no tenemos que tener miedo, ansiedad y reservas sobre el futuro o remordimientos sobre el pasado. Estamos paralizados para siempre en el presente experimentando un momento de amor puro con Dios. Para todos, esto será diferente. A veces, sentiremos esto de una manera abrumadora y la creación de Dios se revelará en su perfección. Otras veces, nos encontraremos en conflicto mientras luchamos con nuestra voluntad propia y alejamos lo que desafía nuestro dominio percibido. Estos tiempos se pueden ver como dolores de crecimiento a medida que nos acercamos a Dios. Esto es verdad en cada relación. Una relación con Dios no es diferente.


Pablo nos dice en su carta a Timoteo que,

 "Si hemos muerto con él, también viviremos con él; Si nos mantenemos hasta el final también reinaremos con él. Pero si lo negamos, él nos negará. Si somos infieles, él seguirá siendo fiel, porque no puede negarse a sí mismo ".

Morir con él significa renunciar a nuestra voluntad y a nuestra antigua forma de vida. Nosotros
Lo hemos hecho a través de nuestro bautismo y una mayor comprensión de lo que realmente significa: recibir la Gracia Santificadora necesaria para la salvación y convertirse en un miembro de la Iglesia. Cuando finalmente comprendamos nuestra relación con Jesucristo, podemos comenzar a trabajar para estar a la altura de las expectativas del Padre. Como sus hijos, hay una natural falta de interés para hacerlo. Deberíamos querer complacerlo porque es a través del placer del Padre en lugar de nosotros mismos que puede experimentarse su amor por nosotros. Jesús nos toma de la mano para guiarnos al Padre y el Padre nos muestra que Él nos ama. Bienvenido a la Trinidad!

Además, hay margen para el error porque no somos perfectos. Lejos de eso, fuimos y siempre seremos pecadores hasta ese momento de perfección experimentado cuando por fin estamos totalmente con Dios en nuestra propia muerte física y resurrección. Esto debería ser un hecho consolador. Jesús siempre permanecerá fiel a nosotros incluso en nuestros momentos más oscuros. Siempre estaremos protegidos, guiados y, sobre todo, amados. Él siempre estará con nosotros. Él siempre hará todo por nosotros. Él siempre nos amará.

and began to speak in different tongues,

"Are not all these people who are speaking Galileans?
Then how does each of us hear them in his native language?

Brothers and sisters:
No one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit.

There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same Spirit;
there are different forms of service but the same Lord;
there are different workings but the same God
who produces all of them in everyone.
To each individual the manifestation of the Spirit
is given for some benefit.

As a body is one though it has many parts,
and all the parts of the body, though many, are one body,
so also Christ.
For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body,
whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free persons,
and we were all given to drink of one Spirit.

Brothers and sisters, live by the Spirit

My Brothers and Sisters,

 Just as the Holy Spirit descended upon Jesus’ Apostles and disciples, we are given the same opportunity to experience what they experienced daily in our lives. The Holy Spirit, God’s Love, is present throughout His creation and so it is also present within us. It is an unwrapped gift waiting for us to open it and partake in the many treasures within. It is a powerful force that, once recognized, has the capability to bring us to a new awareness and understanding of everything. There is no limit to what we can accomplish when we permit it to do its work and transform us into a new creation in accordance to the Will of God.

With all of the distractions that we encounter in the world and all of the responsibilities of daily life, there is always the risk of being numb to the presence of God. It can be difficult to progress in a relationship with Him, especially when to our eyes He is not seen and to our ears He cannot be heard. The physical world and its demands are what take precedent because that is what is directly in front of us. From early on we are trained to respond to the challenges of life while ignoring the nourishment of our spirituality which includes a relationship with God. Spiritual nourishment and a healthy exercise of our faith is what can help us overcome this feeling of emptiness when we think of God. For so long we have built a wall between ourselves and God. We are the only ones who can tear it down. We built it carefully and meticulously. The time and hard work that it took to erect it means that it will take some work and time to tear it down. The good news is that God will help us do this if we only allow Him to do so.

Through the presence of the Holy Spirit, we are given tools to use that will build up our spiritual fortress. It is a fortress of love with God at its center. These tools include wisdom, knowledge, understanding, piety, strength, fortitude, and fear of God. It is through these that we are able to come closer to God, experience His love, and live a fulfilling life. We are also able to combat the evils of this world and concentrate on the good, all the while building up the Kingdom of God on this earth. Jesus said, “Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit.” To remain in Him is our choice. We can either reject the gift that is being offered whereupon He will leave freely or we can react to His love and receive everything including that which we have been searching for yet is already inside of us: His love. “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be open to you.”

In the Gospel reading today, Jesus gave His disciples the Gift of the Holy Spirit by breathing on them. This an intimate exchange perpetuated by complete love. Jesus appeared before them, they recognized Him, rejoiced, and He gave them the Gift of His Love. They all were immediately transformed and went forth to evangelize The Faith. They were forever changed and continued to change for the rest of their lives. The presence of the Holy Spirit within us will do the same thing. We just need to open the gift. It is truly easier than we think. We are the ones that make it more difficult with our reluctance to surrender to Him. It is when we stop fighting against Him that we can then receive Him.

Accept the gift. Open the gift. Enjoy the gift.

El día de Pentecostés, todos los discípulos estaban reunidos en un mismo lugar. De repente se oyó un gran ruido que venía del cielo, como cuando sopla un viento fuerte, que resonó por toda la casa donde se encontraban. Entonces aparecieron lenguas de fuego, que se distribuyeron y se posaron sobre ellos; se llenaron todos del Espíritu Santo y empezaron a hablar en otros idiomas, según el Espíritu los inducía a expresarse.

En esos días había en Jerusalén judíos devotos, venidos de todas partes del mundo. Al oír el ruido, acudieron en masa y quedaron desconcertados, porque cada uno los oía hablar en su propio idioma.

Atónitos y llenos de admiración, preguntaban: "¿No son galileos, todos estos que están hablando? ¿Cómo, pues, los oímos hablar en nuestra lengua nativa? Entre nosotros hay medos, partos y elamitas; otros vivimos en Mesopotamia, Judea, Capadocia, en el Ponto y en Asia, en Frigia y en Panfilia, en Egipto o en la zona de Libia que limita con Cirene. Algunos somos visitantes, venidos de Roma, judíos y prosélitos; también hay cretenses y árabes. Y sin embargo, cada quien los oye hablar de las maravillas de Dios en su propia lengua".

Segunda lectura

1 Cor 12, 3b-7. 12-13

Hermanos: Nadie puede llamar a Jesús "Señor", si no es bajo la acción del Espíritu Santo.

Hay diferentes dones, pero el Espíritu es el mismo. Hay diferentes servicios, pero el Señor es el mismo. Hay diferentes actividades, pero Dios, que hace todo en todos, es el mismo. En cada uno se manifiesta el Espíritu para el bien común.

Porque así como el cuerpo es uno y tiene muchos miembros y todos ellos, a pesar de ser muchos, forman un solo cuerpo, así también es Cristo. Porque todos nosotros, seamos judíos o no judíos, esclavos o libres, hemos sido bautizados en un mismo Espíritu para formar un solo cuerpo, y a todos se nos ha dado a beber del mismo Espíritu.

Gal 5, 16-25

Hermanos: Los exhorto a que vivan de acuerdo con las exigencias del Espíritu; así no se dejarán arrastrar por el desorden egoísta del hombre. Este desorden está en contra del Espíritu de Dios, y el Espíritu está en contra de ese desorden. Y esta oposición es tan radical, que les impide a ustedes hacer lo que querrían hacer. Pero si los guía el Espíritu, ya no están ustedes bajo el dominio de la ley.

Son manifiestas las obras que proceden del desorden egoísta del hombre: la lujuria, la impureza, el libertinaje, la idolatría, la brujería, las enemistades, los pleitos, las rivalidades, la ira, las rencillas, las divisiones, las discordias, las envidias, las borracheras, las orgías y otras cosas semejantes. Respecto a ellas les advierto, como ya lo hice antes, que quienes hacen estas cosas no conseguirán el Reino de Dios.

En cambio, los frutos del Espíritu Santo son: el amor, la alegría, la paz, la generosidad, la benignidad, la bondad, la fidelidad, la mansedumbre y el dominio de sí mismo. Ninguna ley existe que vaya en contra de estas cosas.

Y los que son de Jesucristo ya han crucificado su egoísmo, junto con sus pasiones y malos deseos. Si tenemos la vida del Espíritu, actuemos conforme a ese mismo Espíritu.

Evangelio

Jn 20, 19-23

Al anochecer del día de la resurrección, estando cerradas las puertas de la casa donde se hallaban los discípulos, por miedo a los judíos, se presentó Jesús en medio de ellos y les dijo: "La paz esté con ustedes". Dicho esto, les mostró las manos y el costado.

Cuando los discípulos vieron al Señor, se llenaron de alegría. De nuevo les dijo Jesús: "La paz esté con ustedes. Como el Padre me ha enviado, así también los envío yo".

Después de decir esto, sopló sobre ellos y les dijo: "Reciban el Espíritu Santo. A los que les perdonen los pecados, les quedarán perdonados; y a los que no se los perdonen, les quedarán sin perdonar".

Mis hermanos y hermanas,

 Así como el Espíritu Santo descendió sobre los apóstoles y discípulos de Jesús, tenemos la misma oportunidad de experimentar lo que experimentaron diariamente en nuestras vidas. El Espíritu Santo, el Amor de Dios, está presente en toda su creación y, por lo tanto, también está presente en nosotros. Es un regalo sin envolver esperándonos para abrirlo y participar en los muchos tesoros que hay dentro. Es una fuerza poderosa que, una vez reconocida, tiene la capacidad de llevarnos a una nueva conciencia y comprensión de todo. No hay límite para lo que podemos lograr cuando permitimos que haga su trabajo y nos transforme en una nueva creación de acuerdo con la Voluntad de Dios.

Con todas las distracciones que encontramos en el mundo y todas las responsabilidades de la vida diaria, siempre existe el riesgo de estar insensible a la presencia de Dios. Puede ser difícil progresar en una relación con Él, especialmente cuando a nuestros ojos Él no es visto y nuestros oídos no pueden ser escuchados. El mundo físico y sus demandas son los que tienen precedentes porque eso es lo que está directamente frente a nosotros. Desde el principio estamos entrenados para responder a los desafíos de la vida mientras ignoramos la nutrición de nuestra espiritualidad que incluye una relación con Dios. La alimentación espiritual y un ejercicio saludable de nuestra fe es lo que puede ayudarnos a superar este sentimiento de vacío cuando pensamos en Dios. Por tanto tiempo hemos construido un muro entre nosotros y Dios. Somos los únicos que podemos derribarlo. Lo construimos cuidadosa y meticulosamente. El tiempo y el arduo trabajo que llevó erigirlo significa que tomará algún tiempo y trabajo para derribarlo. La buena noticia es que Dios nos ayudará a hacer esto si solo permitimos que lo haga.

A través de la presencia del Espíritu Santo, se nos dan herramientas para usar que construirán nuestra fortaleza espiritual. Es una fortaleza de amor con Dios en su centro. Estas herramientas incluyen sabiduría, conocimiento, comprensión, piedad, fortaleza, fortaleza y temor a Dios. Es a través de estos que podemos acercarnos a Dios, experimentar su amor y vivir una vida plena. También podemos combatir los males de este mundo y concentrarnos en lo bueno, mientras construimos el Reino de Dios en esta tierra. Jesús dijo: "El que permanece en mí y yo en él, dará mucho fruto". Permanecer en Él es nuestra elección. Podemos rechazar el obsequio que se nos ofrece, con lo cual él se irá libremente o podremos reaccionar a su amor y recibir todo lo que hemos estado buscando, pero que ya está dentro de nosotros: su amor. "Pregunta y te será dado; Busca y encontraras; toca y la puerta estará abierta para ti ".

En la lectura del Evangelio de hoy, Jesús les dio a sus discípulos el don del Espíritu Santo al respirar sobre ellos. Este es un intercambio íntimo perpetuado por el amor completo. Jesús apareció ante ellos, lo reconocieron, se regocijaron y les dio el regalo de su amor. Todos ellos se transformaron inmediatamente y salieron a evangelizar La Fe. Ellos fueron cambiados para siempre y continuaron cambiando por el resto de sus vidas. La presencia del Espíritu Santo dentro de nosotros hará lo mismo. Solo tenemos que abrir el regalo. Es realmente más fácil de lo que pensamos. Nosotros somos los que lo hacen más difícil con nuestra renuencia a rendirnos a él. Cuando dejamos de luchar contra Él, podemos recibirlo.
