The LORD came down in the cloud and spoke to Moses.
Taking some of the spirit that was on Moses,

Now two men, one named Eldad and the other Medad,
were not in the gathering but had been left in the camp.
They too had been on the list, but had not gone out to the tent;
yet the spirit came to rest on them also,
and they prophesied in the camp.
So, when a young man quickly told Moses,
"Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp, "
Joshua, son of Nun, who from his youth had been Moses' aide, said,
"Moses, my lord, stop them."
But Moses answered him,
"Are you jealous for my sake?
Would that all the people of the LORD were prophets!
Would that the LORD might bestow his spirit on them all!"

Gospel Mk 9:38-43, 45, 47-48

At that time, John said to Jesus,
"Teacher, we saw someone driving out demons in your name,
and we tried to prevent him because he does not follow us."
Jesus replied, "Do not prevent him.
There is no one who performs a mighty deed in my name
who can at the same time speak ill of me.
For whoever is not against us is for us.
Anyone who gives you a cup of water to drink
because you belong to Christ,
amen, I say to you, will surely not lose his reward.

"Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin,
it would be better for him if a great millstone
were put around his neck
and he were thrown into the sea.
If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off.
It is better for you to enter into life maimed
than with two hands to go into Gehenna,
into the unquenchable fire.
And if your foot causes you to sin, cut if off.
It is better for you to enter into life crippled

MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS,

 The Spirit of the Lord is upon us! This is indeed a bold statement but it is very true. God is with everyone because He created us out of love. In fact, it can be argued that it would be impossible for God not to be with us unless we chose to reject and turn away from Him. As Paul wrote in his Second Letter to Timothy,

“ If we deny Him He will deny us. If we are unfaithful He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.”

This defines our relationship with God through Jesus Christ. He is already with us, patiently waiting for a response from us to His presence. We, as His children, are encouraged to pursue a relationship with Him. The closer we get the God, the more we will be able to benefit from our relationship with Him. Our lives are all about relationships. Naturally, we view some relationships as more important than others. There are those who we interact with casually and know little about while there are others who are of more importance to us. There are some people we are close to while others we are not. When we start to know more about someone, a bond is formed that goes beyond a physical and mental unity. There becomes a spiritual aspect to the relationship, flooded with emotion and love. The same can be said with our relationship with God.

To be loved by God and to return that love draws us closer to Him. At one time, our relationship with God was perfect. Faced with that perfection, we ran away from it, exercising our free will to be like God instead of enjoying God, trying to mimic His actions by focusing on what we wanted instead of what He wanted for us. What is described is Original Sin: The turning away from God in favor of exercising our free will instead of His. When our relationship with God deepens, then that relationship starts to be repaired and our will is slowly replaced by His. Being guided by God through His creation then allows us to experience our lives in the way that He intended.

When we have this spiritual awakening by becoming closer to God, we then become prophets of sorts. The message that we have must then be spread to others through our words, deeds, and conduct. This shouldn’t be perceived as a requirement but more a condition and promise that the Holy Spirit will move us to do exactly that. At the same time, we will still retain our free will which will struggle against what the Spirit is calling us to do. This struggle comes in the form of temptation and the presence Satan. As Jesus described,

“When an unclean spirit goes out of a person and roams through arid regions searching for rest but finds none. Then it says, ‘I will return to my home from which I came.’ But upon returning, it finds it empty, swept clean, and put in order. Then it goes and brings back with itself seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they move in and dwell there; and the last condition of that person is worse than the first.”

We need to be on constant watch for this. Satan is ready to counterattack with as much force and fury that he can muster when we feel healthy and healed; dwelling in the loving embrace of our God. The better the feel, the more we profess and live the Words of God, the more we will be confronted with the possibility of failure. The difference in this failure is that we now will be responsible for others who just might be listening to us and watching what we do in our relationship with God. More than ever before there will be accountability in our conduct because it will either strengthen others or tempt others to sin. Any type of sin is dangerous. One is not greater than another because all of it leads back to a rift in our relationship with God.

Jesus Christ is the Light of the World. It is through Him that we can be healed, feel the presence of God’s love, and live a joyous life. Focusing on these things brings us into a right relationship with God. God does not disappoint. We will be satisfied with who and what we are as long as we live our lives with Him. Recognizing His presence sets force a series of wonderful events and opens doors for us everywhere. When we walk through these doors, what we witness are things that pale in comparison to anything this world can offer.

Ojalá que todo el pueblo de Dios fuera profeta y descendiera sobre todos ellos el espíritu del Señor".

Sant 5, 1-6

Pero Jesús le respondió: "No se lo prohíban, porque no hay ninguno que haga milagros en mi nombre, que luego sea capaz de hablar mal de mí. Todo aquel que les dé a beber un vaso de agua por el hecho de que son de Cristo, les aseguro que no se quedará sin recompensa.

Al que sea ocasión de pecado para esta gente sencilla que cree en mí, más le valdría que le pusieran al cuello una de esas enormes piedras de molino y lo arrojaran al mar.

MIS HERMANOS Y HERMANAS,

 ¡El Espíritu del Señor está sobre nosotros! Esto es de hecho una declaración audaz, pero es muy cierto. Dios está con todos porque nos creó por amor. De hecho, se puede argumentar que sería imposible que Dios no esté con nosotros a menos que decidamos rechazarlo y alejarnos de él. Como Pablo escribió en su segunda carta a Timoteo,

"Si lo negamos, él nos negará". Si somos infieles, Él permanece fiel, porque no puede negarse a sí mismo ".

Esto define nuestra relación con Dios a través de Jesucristo. Él ya está con nosotros, esperando pacientemente una respuesta de nosotros a su presencia. Nosotros, como Sus hijos, somos alentados a buscar una relación con Él. Mientras más nos acerquemos a Dios, más podremos beneficiarnos de nuestra relación con él. Nuestras vidas son todo acerca de las relaciones. Naturalmente, consideramos que algunas relaciones son más importantes que otras. Están aquellos con quienes interactuamos casualmente y de los que sabemos poco, mientras que hay otros que son más importantes para nosotros. Hay algunas personas con las que estamos cerca, mientras que otras no. Cuando comenzamos a saber más sobre alguien, se forma un vínculo que va más allá de una unidad física y mental. Se convierte en un aspecto espiritual de la relación, inundado de emoción y amor. Lo mismo se puede decir con nuestra relación con Dios.

Ser amado por Dios y devolver ese amor nos acerca a Él. En un momento, nuestra relación con Dios era perfecta. Enfrentados con esa perfección, huimos de ella, ejercitando nuestro libre albedrío para ser como Dios en lugar de disfrutar de Dios, tratando de imitar sus acciones al enfocarnos en lo que queríamos en lugar de lo que Él quería para nosotros. Lo que se describe es el Pecado Original: alejarse de Dios a favor de ejercitar nuestro libre albedrío en lugar de a Él. Cuando nuestra relación con Dios se profundiza, entonces esa relación comienza a repararse y nuestra voluntad es reemplazada lentamente por la suya. Ser guiados por Dios a través de su creación nos permite experimentar nuestras vidas de la manera que él quiso.

Cuando tenemos este despertar espiritual acercándonos más a Dios, nos convertimos en profetas de algún tipo. El mensaje que tenemos debe difundirse a otros a través de nuestras palabras, obras y conducta. Esto no debe ser percibido como un requisito sino como una condición y promesa de que el Espíritu Santo nos moverá a hacer exactamente eso. Al mismo tiempo, conservaremos nuestro libre albedrío que luchará contra lo que el Espíritu nos está llamando a hacer. Esta lucha viene en forma de tentación y la presencia de Satanás. Como Jesús describió,

"Cuando un espíritu inmundo sale de una persona y deambula por regiones áridas en busca de descanso, pero no encuentra ninguna. Luego dice, "Volveré a mi casa de donde vine". Pero al regresar, la encuentra vacía, barrida y puesta en orden. Luego va y trae consigo a otros siete espíritus más malvados que él mismo, y se mudan y moran allí; y la última condición de esa persona es peor que la primera ".

Necesitamos estar en constante vigilancia para esto. Satanás está listo para contraatacar con tanta fuerza y ​​furia que pueda reunir cuando nos sintamos sanos y sanos; morando en el amoroso abrazo de nuestro Dios. Jesucristo es la Luz del mundo. Es a través de Él que podemos ser sanados, sentir la presencia del amor de Dios y vivir una vida gozosa. Concentrarse en estas cosas nos lleva a una relación correcta con Dios. Dios no defrauda Estaremos satisfechos con quién y qué somos, siempre y cuando vivamos nuestras vidas con él. Reconocer su presencia obliga a realizar una serie de eventos maravillosos y nos abre puertas en todas partes. Cuando atravesamos estas puertas, lo que presenciamos son cosas que palidecen en comparación con cualquier cosa que este mundo pueda ofrecer.

Gospel Mk 9:30-37

Jesus and his disciples left from there and began a journey through Galilee,

But they did not understand the saying,
and they were afraid to question him.

They came to Capernaum and, once inside the house,

“What were you arguing about on the way?”

They had been discussing among themselves on the way

MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS,

 Whatever is evil or debased in this world did not originate from God. All the suffering, pain, and torment originated from the actions and thoughts of man. The universe was created in a state of perfection, out of pure love, and was only deformed through our free will exercised for selfish means. Creation once mirrored the Creator until it was smudged and stained by us. God is indeed perfect. Everything He does and says is also perfect. We are in a state of imperfection which affects everything that we come into contact with; including our relationship with God. An understanding of this state of being can mark a beginning of change in our status regarding who and what we are in relation to God. The closer we get the God, the more we will be repaired and the less broken we will become.

Misery loves company. Sinners constantly invite others to sin with them so as to justify themselves and to feel comfortable that they are not the only ones partaking in what will ultimately lead to self-destruction. It is through this community of degradation that much harm can be done to oneself and so many others. The relations that are fostered become rooted in evil thoughts and desires clothed in excuses that each offer the other as comfort even though each person knows that what they are doing is wrong. What is known to be unacceptable then becomes acceptable to those involved by this process. From there, the most heinous things can be done without much guilt or forethought. Wars, violence, and suffering are only some of the negative things that can result.

Patterns of wicked behavior are present throughout the threads of society and are presented as acceptable. This is a great victory for Satan who festers like an infection below a surface that might appear to be clean and harmless. We are challenged each day with decisions and thoughts that we think are going to lead us in a positive direction but end up having disastrous consequences not only for ourselves but other people who either follow us or have some sort of relationship with us. It is only by becoming closer to God and being open to receiving the wisdom He offers that we will be able to discern these situations rightly. No counsel offered by anyone can compare to the perfect counsel that God offers to us through a healthy relationship with Him.

We must become child-like in our relationship with God; forgetting all that we thought we knew beforehand and all of the prejudices that came with it. If we approach God with an open, loving soul, heart, and mind with no preconditions then we will be able to become receptors to His grace; all that was resisting and standing in the way of Him will be gone. Taking what we experience from this act, we can then receive all others in much the same way: with love and innocence. That is the Christian Way and the expectations of Jesus Christ. The more we engage God and others in this manner, the more we can come to the understanding of what God wants for us instead of what others are telling us that may mislead us away from Him.

There are really two ways to love our life: with God or without God. To be with God means that we will experience the complete love of the one who created us. Without God means that we will be living a life that is influenced by those who do not have our best interests in mind and by our free will which has failed us constantly. In our brokenness, we have relied on ourselves and others who are just as broken as we are. We already know where this leads. Doesn’t it make sense to try a different way?

Sant 3, 16–4, 3

Hermanos míos: Donde hay envidias y rivalidades, ahí hay desorden y toda clase de obras malas. Pero los que tienen la sabiduría que viene de Dios son puros, ante todo. Además, son amantes de la paz, comprensivos, dóciles, están llenos de misericordia y buenos frutos, son imparciales y sinceros. Los pacíficos siembran la paz y cosechan frutos de justicia.

¿De dónde vienen las luchas y los conflictos entre ustedes? ¿No es, acaso, de las malas pasiones, que siempre están en guerra dentro de ustedes? Ustedes codician lo que no pueden tener y acaban asesinando. Ambicionan algo que no pueden alcanzar, y entonces combaten y hacen la guerra. Y si no lo alcanzan, es porque no se lo piden a Dios. O si se lo piden y no lo reciben, es porque piden mal, para derrocharlo en placeres.

Mc 9, 30-37

En aquel tiempo, Jesús y sus discípulos atravesaban Galilea, pero él no quería que nadie lo supiera, porque iba enseñando a sus discípulos. Les decía: "El Hijo del hombre va a ser entregado en manos de los hombres; le darán muerte, y tres días después de muerto, resucitará". Pero ellos no entendían aquellas palabras y tenían miedo de pedir explicaciones.

Llegaron a Cafarnaúm, y una vez en casa, les preguntó: "¿De qué discutían por el camino?" Pero ellos se quedaron callados, porque en el camino habían discutido sobre quién de ellos era el más importante. Entonces Jesús se sentó, llamó a los Doce y les dijo: "Si alguno quiere ser el primero, que sea el último de todos y el servidor de todos".

Después, tomando a un niño, lo puso en medio de ellos, lo abrazó y les dijo: "El que reciba en mi nombre a uno de estos niños, a mí me recibe. Y el que me reciba a mí, no me recibe a mí, sino a aquel que me ha enviado".

MIS HERMANOS Y HERMANAS,

 Lo que sea malo o degradado en este mundo no se originó de Dios. Todo el sufrimiento, el dolor y el tormento se originaron en las acciones y los pensamientos del hombre. El universo fue creado en un estado de perfección, por amor puro, y solo fue deformado por nuestro libre albedrío ejercido por medios egoístas. La creación una vez reflejó al Creador hasta que fue manchada y manchada por nosotros. Dios es realmente perfecto. Todo lo que hace y dice también es perfecto. Estamos en un estado de imperfección que afecta todo con lo que entramos en contacto; incluyendo nuestra relación con Dios. Las relaciones que se fomentan se arraigan en los malos pensamientos y deseos revestidos de excusas que cada uno ofrece al otro como consuelo, aunque cada persona sepa que lo que está haciendo está mal. Entonces, lo que se sabe que es inaceptable se vuelve aceptable para los involucrados en este proceso. A partir de ahí, las cosas más atroces se pueden hacer sin mucha culpa o previsión. Las guerras, la violencia y el sufrimiento son solo algunas de las cosas negativas que pueden resultar.

Los patrones de comportamiento malvado están presentes en todos los hilos de la sociedad y se presentan como aceptables. Esta es una gran victoria para Satanás que se infecta como una infección debajo de una superficie que podría parecer limpia e inofensiva. Cada día nos desafiamos con decisiones y pensamientos que creemos que nos llevarán en una dirección positiva, pero terminan teniendo consecuencias desastrosas no solo para nosotros sino para otras personas que nos siguen o tienen algún tipo de relación con nosotros. Solo acercándose más a Dios y estando abiertos a recibir la sabiduría que Él ofrece, podremos discernir estas situaciones correctamente. Ningún consejo ofrecido por nadie puede compararse con el consejo perfecto que Dios nos ofrece a través de una relación sana con él.

Debemos convertirnos en niños en nuestra relación con Dios; olvidando todo lo que creíamos conocer de antemano y todos los prejuicios que lo acompañaban. Si nos acercamos a Dios con un alma, un corazón y una mente abiertos y amorosos sin precondiciones, podremos convertirnos en receptores de su gracia; todo lo que resistió y se interpuso en su camino se habrá ido. Tomando lo que experimentamos de este acto, podemos recibir a todos los demás de la misma manera: con amor e inocencia. Ese es el Camino Cristiano y las expectativas de Jesucristo. Cuanto más involucremos a Dios y a los demás de esta manera, más podremos llegar a comprender lo que Dios quiere para nosotros en lugar de lo que otros nos están diciendo que pueden desviarnos de Él.

En realidad, hay dos maneras de amar nuestra vida: con Dios o sin Dios. Estar con Dios significa que experimentaremos el amor completo de quien nos creó. Sin Dios significa que viviremos una vida influenciada por aquellos que no tienen nuestros mejores intereses en mente y por nuestro libre albedrío que nos ha fallado constantemente. En nuestro quebranto, hemos confiado en nosotros mismos y en otros que están tan destrozados como nosotros. Ya sabemos a dónde conduce esto. ¿No tiene sentido probar de otra manera?
